Mom and Dad handle the pouring, planning, and packing — but Elliette runs the inspiration department. Our passion goes beyond candles. As a proud Trisomy 21 family, we’re dedicated to raising awareness for Down syndrome and celebrating inclusion every step of the way. We believe differences are beautiful, and our CEO proves that every single day. Each candle is hand-poured using American-made coconut soy wax and premium fragrance oils. We allow every candle to cure for a full 14 days to ensure a strong, clean burn and exceptional scent throw — because at e.b.e., we don’t rush greatness. Quality, purpose, and a little extra sparkle — that’s the e.b.e way.
Our Story.
Meet e.b.e family co.
We are a small family in Albuquerque, New Mexico — Elliot, Rebecca, and our beautiful daughter, Elliette.
Our journey began with a simple desire: to create a truly clean candle for our home and to share it with other families. Our greatest inspiration is our “homie with an extra chromie,” Elliette.
Elliette was born with Down syndrome, also known as Trisomy 21. She has three copies of chromosome 21 instead of the usual two — 47 chromosomes in each cell instead of 46. Many of us in the Down syndrome community proudly call ourselves “The Lucky Few,” and we truly believe that title fits.
Through our business, we advocate for Elliette and for inclusion. We are passionate about sharing her story — and the stories of so many incredible individuals with Down syndrome — to help change outdated perceptions and remove the stigma often found in hospitals, online spaces, and society at large. The truth is simple: we are far more alike than different, and that perspective deserves to be the norm.
Quality and integrity matter deeply to us. We use a coconut soy wax blend, and all of our fragrance oils are made in America. Our scents are 100% phthalate-free and formulated without carcinogens, mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, or acute toxins. We offer both wood and cotton wicks — our wood wicks are eco-friendly, and our cotton wicks are lead- and zinc-free.
We don’t cut corners for profit. We create products we feel confident burning in our own home.
As part of our commitment to the Down syndrome community, we donate 1% of our sales to Ruby’s Rainbow, an organization dedicated to providing higher education scholarships to students with Down syndrome.
